Are the lights in this shot worked like a flash, or do they stay on like a normal light? Basically I'd like to know if I jagged the moment the photog in the background took his shot

haha i have a photo of that same car in the same situation... Id just gotten my camera and was panning at 1/20th or so so excuse the lack of crispness. There were togs with some 580's on stands (like your shot) and I managed to get them in numerous shots. This is the only one I have handy, though.

I was such a noob back then (not that Im much better now :P)

I wonder why anyone would use a 5D mark II for sports shooting..

It was his 2nd backup, so I assume it would have to be a disaster. I admire him thinking that he would shrug off 2 failed bodies to get to the 3rd.

Yeah, sometimes you also have to shoot more than just the plays. 5D with 15mm f/2.8 FE, 16-35mm f/2.8L or 24mm f/1.4L is a great match for shots like coaches congratulating each other after the game, etc.

^^^ The first thing that caught me eyes is the lady's(or man) left leg who's standing next to the blue car, then I took and second look .... oh... :):):)

LOL - I know, that leg is funky until you realize it's two people. ha.

The first thing that caught my eye was the amazing co-incidence of this picture taken at exactly the same time as the P&S fired!

Yes, a crappy shot, but quite the timing. I didn't realize it until I looked at the shot once I got home.

In my defence, I always found it cool when you could look through the camera. Especially with the 85L. I wanted to see if I could do the same with the 135L. Its not like I tried to press the button.

A few weeks ago I went out for my college paper and photographed the Phillies meeting President Obama. The next day I was getting phone calls and I was tagged in a photo on Facebook. Apparently I was in the background of an interview between Comcast Sports Net and Bill Giles (one of the owners of the Phillies). My buddy did a screen cap of it. I remember the situation, I saw them doing the interview as I was moving around. I thought I was in the background so I moved...right into Comcast's frame by accident.

:o
