i was mostly basing it off of the panel that houses the switches behind the focus ring.

left to right: f/4L, f/4L IS, f/2.8L, f/2.8L IS

the one in the image looks thin and noticeably closer to to the focus ring than the zoom ring. i think that's about the only really tell tale difference that is visible from the angle we're given. ;)

Yup, non-IS it is.

I hope if I'm ever candid photographed for a fashion forum they don't go into this much detail over what kind of buttons I have on my shirt.

"Looks like Red Herring. I think the buttons only have two thread holes."
"I'd say it's Blue Harbour. The buttons are tilted 30 degrees."

I'll bow to the experts as to which lenses they are. If my hands were steadier, they might have been easier to identify. The lenses, I mean. Not my hands. :)

No, it's just a random girl collecting posters, stickers and other freebie swag. I was standing next to her behind a partition so I couldn't get her out of my shot.

He is a freelance photographer that follows the Supercross circuit so my assumption is that he is pretty familiar with names, numbers, etc.
