It must be me, but I really can't see anything to giggle at. It's a very common sight on a lot of beaches.

Definitely not a usual site at any beach I've been to in the US(California or Hawaii).

I didn't say it was a common site. I said it was a common sight!:D

(And is it only California and Hawaii that have beaches in the US?)

Ya ya...that's what I get for playing on the forums while working. I type "site" atleast fifty times a day that "sight" has become an ignored word. Oh well!

They are the only states that I've been to where I have been near a beach. So rather than speaking for everyone in the US I clarified where I've been. Who knows; maybe the east coasters or those north of me are into that kind of thing.

Fairly common sight on Australian beaches too but you'll find the "white guy" in Speedos is usually a Pom;)

Shots of the accredited photographers from the 2010 Vancouver Olympic 4 man bobsled today. Miserable wet snow all day - everyone has a different way to keep their gear dry.

No gloves?! Impressive stuff.

No, not at all. Seattle has beaches (but it's not the stereotypical, warm water, bikini babes beaches), for instance. North Carolina has some awesome beaches (my favorites, in fact), and Florida does, too. Chicago has lake beaches, and I'm sure other cities are exposed to some coastline, too. That being said, I'd imagine people think of LA beaches first... unless you're on the East coast, in which case the NC/SC and Florida beaches probably come to mind.

I love the CPS hat! Hahaha

The Nikon strap is due to both the camera and lens being Nikon too.

It wasn't really cold enough for gloves - the temp was just at freezing. I was there for four hours and kept my gloves in my camera bag.

You learn something every day - although the camera is obviously Nikon, I had never seen a Nikon white lens before... or if I have seen one, I never noticed it before..

Google them! Although they are uncommon, there are some pictures out there and even some lenses for sale every now and then.

I'd be running around in my underwear in 5 feet of snow if we got all the way up to just below freezing!

My question was ironic and by way of a joke.
