Hmmm...

Another one who has a long lens on a monopod via the body and not the lens (gentleman at camera right in #1)

Not meant to knock or mock but unless he's missing the lens collar, he's cheating himself out of the max stability he could have.

and here I thought you would be impressed by the dude hand holding his 500 L :D

I noticed that too, I believe his lens is lacking in collar.

Ha! Didn't notice that was 500 with the cammo on it.
(I prefer hand holding the 500 myself though. ;) )

That setup looks hardcore and that flash arm looks interesting. Never seen that before.

I completely understand... And I was pleasantly surprised with its result, considering this was my first time out shooting with that rig on...

:)

I shot this at a Help Portrait event in December 2010. Basically it's Photographers giving back to the community. Our location was a truck stop. We shot photos of truck drivers who weren't going to be home for the holidays. We had 4 photographers and a lead guy doing all of the editing and printing. I was the only Canon guy there. My backdrop and lights are visible in the background. We had 2 backdrops setup.

Everytime I see this photo pop up I wonder what in the heck they're all shooting at and why is the guy in the background facing the wrong way? Or are the rest of them facing the wrong way? :) Great shot!
