Roy, Noink is a humorous term we use, it's got no ill-intent behind it. We love our Nikon brethren, we just poke fun at them because we're smarter and use better gear, and are typically better photographers in general. I personally don't think you need to lighten up. After all, if you weren't you, who would you be?
Absolutely right, Ed. As an ex Nikon user I have huge respect for the brand...I use Canon because I started with a Canon FT back in the 60s and I got used to the way things turn etc. I found that during the time I was paid to use Nikon gear that I never quite felt at home with it, end of story.
The Noink thing is more of an affectionate thing than an insult...like calling an Australian an Aussie!
On the other hand, I don't have the slightest problem with Roy giving his opinion on it. Why would I?
As for a sense of humour, I have found Roy to be one of the funniest contributors on POTN...he's just a bit droll for some, I think.
