I've just bought the Canon Monopod 100 which comes with a ball head, but it doesn't have a "Quick Release" attached to it.

I don't like the idea of "Screwing" the monoped into the camera for possible "stripping" of the threads which could happen over time. I bought the Canon monopod on Amazon and have checked the internet vigorously but to no avail!...

I'm not even sure what "aftermarket" is!..it sounds somewhat "illegal?"....
I'd appreciate any info as to where I can buy it.

thanks..

If you want something economical but popular with Manfrotto tripod and monopos users, you can attach an RC2 clamp to your monopod. Here's a set (clamp and plate) available from B&H.

Or, if you want something a little more robust, you can install an Arca-Swiss compatible QR system but the cost a lot more. Some manufactures that come to mind are Arca-Swiss, Wimberley, RSS and Kirk Photo. And there are lots more out there.

PacAce,

Thanks so much for your rapid and most helpful reply.....its what I've been looking for.
As a matter of fact, just today, I telephoned B&H and asked if they had such a clamp and plate, but the rep told me he was unfamiliar with anything like that. So, as great as B&H is, they also make mistakes.

Thanks again...

Did you give the fellow the B&H stock number for that item? I find it odd that a person working at B&H was that unhelpful. You might do better to just order the item online unless you live close enough to B&H to go over and buy it over the counter.
