Any advise on a good monitor calibrator under or around $150. I just purchased a Dell 3007wfp-hc monitor and want to get it set up to look as good as possible for my photos.

Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I use the Spyder system. Been pleased with it so far. I'm sure there will be many options brought forth.

I just bought the Spyder3Pro and I'm very happy with it. It's quick and easy to use. I'd recommend it. Here's the link:

If you want to do some basic profiling, then just about any system does a good job, from the Huey, spyder, monaco, and eyeone.

If you want actual hardware calibration, well, that's a whole 'nother convoluted story.

if you want to invest in a calibrator, i suggest getting a Spyder3 Elite.

why? it'll calibrate practically everything; including printers.

now, if you want to flip a calibrator after using it where needed, basically any will do.

i'm personally a fan of Pantone and Spyder, but that's personal preference.

No problem, Ravi. I just went through this whole thing myself, so the link was handy.

Take care...

ahh, as have i. i recently purchased a 23" HD display from apple to use in conjunction with my current...monitor (42" 1080p HD LCD -- intended use was streaming media).

they weren't kidding about these apple HD displays...their resolution is breath-taking. it completes my mac pro rig. definitely.

in any event, i'm fairly sure that calibrators hold their value rather well so if it turns you did indeed "overbuy," you can always flip it and get one that better suits your needs (if still necessary.)

Does anyone find that after calibrating on a mac there is a strong blue-ish tint?
