My First Macro!

Here goes the first macro shot I've upped here for critique. I used a reverse lens for this one. Some editing to give the otherwise completely yellow flower some red color was done.

I would prefer a greater depth of field. All this blur is bad for my tired old eyes.

I would too Bob! But my setup (50mm F/1.4 + 50mm F/1.8 (reversed)) left me with a depth of field about the width of a quarter :mad:. I must get a real macro lens.

What was intended to be the most important subject, the semetrical rain drop or the flower? I have no problem accepting the image as it now exists with the water droplet the subject.

In this image I envisioned the water droplet as being the focus of the photo, with the colorful flower providing an interesting backdrop.

Yes it was a real shocker. I went out this morning right after the sprinklers went off. Lucky! Very lucky!
