Very well summarized .

I see this as someone posting "Do I need a claw hammer or a ball peen hammer?"
It all depends on what you are planning to do with that hammer. ........

I wish people would search, or decide for themselves. Your own particular photography and shooting style should make it clear which is more appropriate. I love how silly people respond to silly threads when I clearly stated, that this isn't a debate about what is better or what use these lens are for...I think we have covered that in all the threads that goes on here. If I had the option to close out response and just leave it a poll, we would prevent silly people like you from posting silly responses when you don't even read the thread to begin with. Which one do you have? The 24-70 or the 24-105, use your left mouse button to select one of those and move on. You don't like the thread, move on. They are both great lenses - I researched both of them very carefully when I made my choice - but my choice was based on my personal needs. When did voluptuous become voluminous?

When you find out which lens most people have - how will you use the information? Will the poll information help you decide which lens to choose? I think that's what some of us are saying, but perhaps in a not so polite way. Good luck with the decision - you won't regret your choice - they are both really nice lenses. When I showed mine to a fellow photographer I met by chance, she was so impressed that she was going to get the same lens as her next purchase. i think you should try both and see what suits you best....and eventually you probably will from what i've witnessed on this board http://instagram.com/edraderphotography/

Jun 29, 2008 19:35 | #24 My apologies then. But I agree topics regarding versus threads does become redundant but this is what forums are for...Yes, people can search but if you are here to help then do so. Otherwise, people should simply not respond. That is essentially my point in this. Canon EOS 40D | EOS Rebel XTI/400D | G9

I definitely wont' regret my choice, heck I'll even go as far as probably think I may change my mind in the future but 24-70 for me due to my shooting style and situations I'm usually in. I need fast lens. Canon EOS 40D | EOS Rebel XTI/400D | G9

Sharp as anything and it's a great all-around lens for most situations. I was originally going to go with a 17-40L actually, but decided on this because I got a good deal and the focal length can be used in more applications than something with less range. The IS is a plus too, and it does wonders for my shaky hands. T2i w/ grip | 24-105 f/4L IS | 70-200 f/4L | 430EX | Manfrotto 055Xprob w/ 488RC2
