After having it fixed twice, with $150, which makes it now performing extremely well, there is still one thing to learn, which I finally figured out. The IQ of Sigma's 50mm lens, and many other 50mm lenses, is not that good wide open in close distance. So, I'll keep it at f/2 or smaller and don't get too close to the subject.

The Sigma can AF better than my 135L and 100 F2 shooting through glass!!!! With the 135L, AF tends to hunt a bit shooting through glass in a public aquarium. The 100 F2 is much better. I wasn't never able to produce the following shots with the above either lenses. Went with a brand new one rather than used for warranty purpose ($150 for a peace of mind). Not sure if Sigma warranty is transferable. Canon 7D, Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, Canon 70-200 f4 IS, Tokina 11-16 f2.8, and Sigmalux.

This one was shot wide open....didn't expect him to take off, but the lens and 20D AF was spot on ![]()
