I'm sory... it's fake. :)
It is not Colombian jungle and I not work for NG - it's just Rancho Texas entertainment park in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. :)

But anyway... Lanzarote is definitely worth to visit. Entire island is UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and you can see there absolutely incredible things (both samples taken with Sigmalux & B+W Pro CPL):

This is Timanfaya National Park - astronauts from Apollo program were trained there before Moon missions.

No rush in photography... My junkyard: 1/ Good, convenient shoes. 2/ "Ape with Razor" set: ΣSIGMALux50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM plus 5DMkII, footzoom, flash... what flash?
3/ Sometimes also ΣSIGMA 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM and Carl Zeiss Planar

Just got a mint used one and it's nailing focus on my 1Ds. Well chuffed :)

It's better than my Canon 1.4 in the limited comparisons I've done so far. Time to test on the 7D....

Edit: Anyone else noticed that it's quite a bit wider than the Canon?

Do you mean in terms of field of view? It's certainly physically wider!

I believe I did read somewhere that the Sigmalux is more accurately something like 49mm and the Canon is 53mm. Don't quote me on that though.

My Canon 50/1.4 and my old Pentax-M 50/1.7 have about the same FOV (if there's a difference it's too small for me to see) but the FOV my Sigma is noticeably wider. I'd guess 46 or 47mm.

Interesting! Perhaps I'll test it out against my Nifty.

I forgot to mention that this is at studio/living room distances which is what I use this lens for. Outdoors and focused at infinity they may be more similar in FOV.

From the Digital Picture's review of the Sigma:

"Focal lengths are supposed to be rated at an infinity focus distance, but even at hundreds of feet, the Sigma still frames the scene a similar percentage wider than the Canon lenses. While this is a real difference, I'm not sure it matters if your prime lens frames like 50mm or 46.5mm. It's a small difference."

You can read the whole section down when he is talking about the MFD for the Sigma 50f1.4 and how much it can magnify in macro use.
