Finally got myself a Sigmalux! :D

First impressions:
(+) Exceptionally creamy bokeh
(+) Very usable sharpness wide open
(+) Great sharpness from around f/2.2 onwards
(-) Noticable greenish bokeh-fringing at f/1.4
(-) AF is sometimes a bit hit-and-miss compared to my 30mm f/1.4 and my 85mm f/1.8

I'll wait and see how the AF thing works out. So far, it's not too terrible.
Since I plan switching to a 7D later this year, I'll probably wait and see how it performs on that camera before deciding on sending it in for calibration.

Got the replacement a few days ago! The previous lens was making some ugly noises when it focused. The new one also has the updated rubbery exterior which does does not seem to scratch easily. Here are some random pics wide open.

Neil great pics! I love the look you give to them. Regarding the softness you mentioned did you try microadjusting the focus? My new Sigma focuses fine on close subjects but needs some adjustment for longer distances, but I can live with that for the moment!

But if you are fine up close and adjust for more distant shots doesn't that make the closeup shots oof now?

What I meant was that if I have to shoot distant subjects I instantly dial in the correction and go back to zero for close up! I know I can't have both with one focus setting! :)

edit: What I am describing happpens on the 7d, while on the 5d it works fine with all distances with zero adjustment.
