Nice!! I think you should run a class on free-lensing! :D ...I managed one reasonable sharp shot on that portrait session the other week using same technique...I'll post it soon, although I don't think it worked perfectly on that shot.

You are doing well on the whites for a light tent. :-)

Have anyone compared this lens with the Canon version in terms of AF speed?

Im already reading but havent found a comparison in terms of AF speed, I read some people complaining about the "micro USM" in the Canon, just wanted to know if the Sigma had the edge on that matter. Thanks for your comparison.Would you consider it for indoor action shots give that you are close to your subject?Dont get me wrong I want this lens for portraits, but if I can use it for something else then thats a plus.

Ok guys didnt really know where to post this but i thought here's a good start.

I want this lens, i've tried it out in Dublin vs my canon 1.4 and i think it really kicks its ass for the reasons mentioned above... the price in Dublin is 499 euro (718 USD)

Im going to Las Vegas/National parks on thursday of this week and wanted to know if i could get it cheaper stateside and also if anyone had any store reccomendations. I cant seem to access stock information on any of the vegas camera store websites.

Would it be cheaper in the States? Where would i get this lens?

Much thanks in advance!

It is $499 in the US, so it is a lot cheaper there.
