i cant seem to find any used copies of this lens that are not practically the same price as new so i guess ill be buying new once my next check comes in the mail.

been having trouble deciding my next lens purchase but honestly this would be the best choice over the rest.

hard to recommend one way or another. new would give you a fresh start on warranty, however, as others, including myself have stated, you are buying a lottery ticket.

that said, if you can find a used one that is verified to be tried and true then that could be worth it. i bought new, and glad i did. even though my second copy spend more time traveling in the last month or so than i have all year, still worth it to me.

i think im going to end up taking the chance and buying new. sigma has improved a lot lately i have been hearing and there are less chances of buying a really bad copy. i got my sigma 30 new and it did need some micro adjusting to +8 and it works great now.

i even see less moans and complaints about sigma here than i saw when i first joined this forum
