OK, just got my lens. Now what am I supposed to shoot? I took some shots of lunch testing DOF, what about back / front focus etc?
I've read through this entire forum and trying to understand how you are all sharing your images. My full size shots from lunch today are at the following:
http://www.flickr.com …o/sets/72157621907084454/ (external link)
...otherwise I have to resize to fit the 150kb restrictions to include here. I will get the hang of this forum quickly (only a newbie for a minute hehe).
Thx,

Domenic ;)

did you use any micro adjustment? The image at 100% doesnt change much for me looks good look up a focusing chart on google and try that to see if you have any real focusing issues

...not sure about the micro adjustment(?).
I held the focus on each bottle as I shot then repositioned to get the same
frame. I only uploaded 333x500. Should I have gone with a larger image? As for the focusing chart I found the Lens Align at RawWorkFlow.com... is everyone testing their lens this way?
Thx, :)

That chart is not for AF microadjust settings. It's to test for front/back focus. You need a flat surface (like a wall or something... THIS CHART (external link) is a good one) to adjust AF microadjust.

That said, seems you got a good lens. Well done... and also... you suck. :p :p

:D

Good article on AF micro adjust:
