Nightclub/1st time 5D user..C&C pls

I shot a teen event on Thursday. They had a special guest from Puerto Rico and as always I was there to take the pics.

those are good, did you use a flash?

Yes I did. Actually, I had to. I never realized that the 5d didn't have a flash (goes to show my newbie status). Luckily I had my 580ex II all ready to go. I bought a diffuser for that night. I have the gary fong one but I don't think it would of served its purpose there.

I bounced where I could and used it straight on when I had to.

I think you did a great job for being a "newbie"! My husband plays in a rock band and I've never gone to take pics of him playing (cuz my camera and I are scarred of dark places ) I have the same equipment you do, but my flash sucks, its a 420 ex, very slow to warm up.
