Most comfortable strap??

I have a Rebel digital XT, and just got a 17-85IS lens for it, and need a comfortable strap.

I had the original Canon strap, and it worked fine with my old 28-80 cheapo lens, but the 17-85 adds alot of weight.

So I'm looking for a decent quality comfortable walk-around strap. I heard that Optech makes some nice one, but just wondering what you guys have found to be the most comfortable with the "least bulk"

Thank you

Best regards,......Marc
It doesn't get any better thank this!

I tried the Optec's(just like sold here). Comfortable. But, I found them to be bulky. Also, the rubber, while comfortable, made my neck sweat.

I switched to Tamrac n-5059 Leather straps. Not as bulky, just as comfortable, and the leather breathes better than the rubber. I removed the two memory card pouches. I did like the Optec's pro-loop attachment better than the tamrac's (tamracs are more like Canon's).

I like the OPTECH Reporter

I like a neoprene strap because the elasticity seems to make the camera/lens easier to carry. It can handle two cameras and lenses. If I carry one camera lens, I just remove the top camera and connecting straps.

However, if you are looking for a great strap for a single camera, I really like the Tamrac Boomerang.

These straps are the best twenty bucks or so you can invest in your camera equipment. Your neck will thank you for the investment.

I am rather fond of the Domke "Gripper" strap; it is very comfortable and the non-slip tracks woven into the strap really do work . I have had the 1" wide version on my Rebel XT for a couple of years and I immediately put the 1.5" version on my new 40D. They come in black and tan. Here's a link to the wide version at Adorama: http://www.adorama.com/DMST1500BK.html (external link)

I use (and love) the POTN op-tech strap.

I've travelled the world with them and find them very comfortable:)
Add to that they are only 18.95 and ship super quick, plus it helps support my favorite place on the web:):)

How about the Optech Super Classic?

Looks to be a nice strap without a lot of bulk?

I hate to dis the Optec's, because so many like them, and they are sold here. But, the other issue I forgot to mention is length. The Optech isn't very long, and I couldn't get my cameras to hang where I wanted.

while I must agree that the POTN strap is a little short for my likeing it's the only complaint I can find and it is a minor one otherwise it's a great strap and you can tote a heavy combo all day comfortably.

Get the 3/8" web attachments. They even hold the eyepiece cover for your 20,330,40, or 5D.

OpTech Super Classic strap. Not so bulky as the OpTech Pro (POTN) strap.

Up Strap ... much research, hate straps, love the Up Strap. But not cheap! Pretty essential if you have a two body set up as the strap keeps the second body secure on your shoulder. This is not a neck strap though. It is a shoulder strap. The neoprene ones like the Optech end up looking a real mess after a while ... or at least all the ones I have ever seen look scruffy. But if they do the job it doesn't really matter.

Yep, that's what I need, especially with 2 bodies
