Does the starfish distract from the rings or do you think it works? The wedding was beach-themed. Thanks :)

I think the starfish draws my attention to it and the picture rocks! I love the rich colors.

I like it. Most of all, I think the couple will like b/c it shows the details of their day with a creative eye..

The colours are great but I think it takes away from the rings. I think its a nice shot but the composition IMO wasn't the best to showcase the subject.

Hi SarahBeth...I love this picture! I always do really fun stuff with the couples rings and this is a great idea. My only critique would be to view the rings from a different angle, I think this would make them more of the focus, as apposed to the starfish. But it still is an awesome idea!

Very cute. I think if you were to redo it, you'd take a little more focus on the rings, perhaps coming in at more of an angle which includes the starfish, but makes the rings more prominent in the photo.

I'd echoe Grego's comments. It took a second to find the rings. I love the colors but the rings get lost.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I appreciate it. :) I took the shot from several angles but the problem was when I was closer to the rings it became unclear what they were on and the starfish looked more like some wierd rocks or dirt. I also took the shots on the bouquet flowers but they were fake so the fabric detail became evident in the pictures. I like the shot - it's different - but I was worried that the rings would get lost in it. I wish I had tried some other things, but hopefully they are happy anyway.

Well, I have a suggestion. If you have a wide angle lens it's very easy to put the ring part closer to you and then the rest will be behind and smaller. This is why a wide angle lens is so useful.

Great ring shot and I guessed the theme of the wedding without you telling me; that is a very good thing. Kudos! :)

Nice touch for that theme. But, I agree the starfish might overpower the rings a bit. I don't know, maybe a smaller starfish?

I love the colors and the idea of this one as is, but if you want the rings to pop more maybe convert it to b/w with a vignette to darken everything but the rings a bit?
Just a thought, but I really like it as is!

I hadn't thought of a wide-angle. Thanks. I only used my macro.

Yeah, that might've worked. Thanks :)

I tried it in black and white but like with most of the photos from this wedding, I am having a hard time putting them in black and white. The colors for this wedding were just beautiful and the photos certainly have more pop in color, unlike the last wedding I shot where I thought black and white was fitting for quite a few photos. Thank you though :)
