Depending on what equipment you are shooting with currently but I'm making the assumption that it is not a DSLR, you won't get that WOW effect as those that are replacing a lesser piece of glass. When you shoot with the kit lens for a while and then replace it with the 17-55 the WOW effect is dramatic. But your starting at the top already. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
