Rumor has it the Sultan of Brunei (known as the richest man in the world) ordered 125 Gold sets of Leica Cameras with Lenses. Each set is meant as a gift to people fortunate enough to be distinguished guests at the Sultan's palace. On your last day before you leave the palace, the Sultan has the special Leica gift set placed at your nightstand with a special note indicicating it is a gift from the Sultan of Brunei.

C'mon, big spenders, imagine the POTN bragging rights when you start your own, exclusive, lens archive for your solid gold 50mm f/2 Summicron. Oh, you also get a 35 f/1.4 for that price, so really, not so bad.

I tried to bounce my flash off the ceiling once. Left a mark on the ceiling and broke my flash.

Wow... gold is a really malleable metal. I think that camera will require calibration every few weeks.

Wouldn't it be nicer if you got it the first night so you could take pictures during your visit?

Kinda like getting park passes to Disney while boarding your flight home.

Not that I would turn it down if i was invited (you listening Sultan...) but gold isnt known for being one of the lightest metals either. I know its going to cost a packet but what is it going to weigh...

If you can't swing the $50K for the solid gold version from Saudi royalty, His Majesty the King of Thailand has an $8,000 gold-plated version you might be interested in (includes M6!)

That will go quickly. If I had money to blow, I would get it. Very cool.
