a little teaser

so my friend just got new wheels... and wanted me to do a little teaser shoot. the background was not picked, and was only done outside of his garage because his electrical isn't hooked up yet.

please provide some c&c on how i can do better with the sharpening techniques or anything else. sharpening was done by changing to lab and using usm on the lightness.

these shots were taken with a 50mm at 100 iso, f1.8, and i can't remember the shutter speed..

and i can't remember the shutter speed..

#1 = 4 seconds f/2.5 ISO 100.
Try 4 seconds f/5.6 ISO 400 to get it a bit sharper.
#2 looks pretty good.

i thought the widest aperture was the best? and just adjust the ISO accordingly?

Your lens is actually sharper about 2-3 stops down from wide open, but the DOF (depth of field/focus) is greater so more background crud comes into focus, too.
