Best Meter for the Money

I want to buy a meter to measure flash and incident and reflected. I dont want to spend more than 125.00. I want to be able to measure flash at the subject without any wires. I will let the person hold the meter and I will trip the flash on the camera. Dont need all the bells and whistles. thank you, rollsman

I think you'll need to up your budget. The Sekonic L358 with wireless flash triger runs around $400 IIRC. For $125 you might get a continuous light incident meter, but not a flash meter unless well-used.

The Polaris meter might be the best you can do for the price (at least for a digital flash meter). I have one - it's not bad. It was my first meter. There are no bells and no whistles. See it here.

My vote would be the Sekonic L-358 also. I have that meter, never lets me down while in studio or outside with different lighting situations.

I don't think you're going to find a decent NEW meter for $125. I'd suggest saving a little more for the L-358, as you will find it will last you for many years to come.

I have the Sek 358 and love it. I use it with my skyports. The Skyport TX has a plug in for a PC cable and comes with a short 6" cord. So I just take the TX off camera and drag it around with my meter(TX plugged in to meter). Works great for me so far.

You will not regret that decision. And that meter has capabilities for any future use you might find.
