I shoot horses a lot, here is a link to one of the recent shows I shot. These images were shot at 1/1000 and 1/1250 with a 100-400mmL IS lens. The ISO was 200, aperture 5.6 most of the time. Even with that shutter speed the subject moves about 1/2" in the time that the shutter is open. Careful sharpening as the last step before printing will help with the small problems you might have. Keep your eye to the shutter and until you have what you want, then squeeze the shutter button. The password is bosky
