Nice looking shots there Paul, are these guys going to be at Silverstone during the classic? I might try and get there for it.

Mark.

just curious - why would you display photos that you have not edited and to be honest photos that need to be edited. esp when some of the shots have potential to be good shots.

Its something i see here on this forum time and time again and i find it frustrating.

If i invited you for dinner and server you raw veggies and uncooked chicken, then told you it was going to be chicken chausser - i don't think you would eat it. So why present your work as unfinished. 2 - 3 minutes on each shot would improve them 100 % if not more.

any way end of rant (and it is not just you this was aimed at)

as for these people who are too pc to say anything else other than nice shots etc - i think you are do nothing but a disservice to the members on the forum or is it that you don't know what a nice shot is and have nothing else to say.

now back to the OP and his shots...

1. its very soft and washed out - try adding a small amount of USM and some sats to see if it can be restored

2- 7. needs a touch of usm and small am out of levels (but in general its not bad) it pays sometimes to watch the backgrounds too - (that dude standing there a little distracting)

8. This would have been a great shot but the foreground is too dark. - no detail in the wheels and the side of the car - (which is a shame) (this shot also leaves me thinking that maybe some pp was done to the shot but as you said it had not been, i will take your word on it) try creating a second layer in ps and upping the exposure of the layer. then use the opacity to create a good blend of shots. This i hope will bring some detail to the side of the car. Also add some usm and check the levels.

Nzshrimper,

Your comments in my opinion are very welcome. I believe (in my case anyway), that the comments are relating to the pictures in there current state. If the original poster had commented that he had extensivley pp the pictures then maybe the comments of nice shots would not fall so easily.

Lets see what he may do with them and then maybe we can comment further on? I to would love to see some work done on the Tyrrell.

Nzshrimper... advice and crit welcome dude.. but can't say i was really that bothered with using photoshop to spruce them up , but if i have asked for comments then you would generally think that what i have produced is to the best of my ability..

but in all honesty i was tired , had just finished deleting lots of pictures , quite sunburnt and just thought the ones straight off the card will do.. i don't have anything against mild photo processing , just was not really in the mood !

but i have taken your advice , which has made me think .. have spruced up a few others just to give you some more variety...

Amitch - there is a better website but this is just the FIA one i found
