Some good shots their especially 3,5, 7 & 8. My only criticism really would be that number 1 is ruined by the lights behind, but otherwise - well done!

Too bad #7 is (not just a bit) OOF. Same for #4.

I don't agree with phil's comment on the lighting on #1. I actually think the lighting adds something to the photo - without it would be a bit boring I think.

Nice catch on #8.

Your resizing seems to be a bit odd on some photos, is that oversharpening or just using bad software for the resizing?

Brandon, great looking shots. Way above what I saw of your work a year ago. And the quality is consistent through out.

7,4 are a bit oof but to me still very attractive and presentable. On #1, I'm with Gebruikersnaam, the lighting and the symmetry of the composition adds interest to picture, not detract from it.

#8 is superb, technically the best and my favorite of the bunch.

Are these really straight out of camera or you process these?

p.s. How could you stand shooting 1-2 min. in the main stage pit? I balked at that and after trying it once, would not shoot the pit under such conditions [and debating whether or how to provide coverage of those I shot out of the pit], won't provide coverage of the up and coming acts that they do allow you to shoot [I didn't shoot a single fringe stage act, except one - Myriad - which I'm debating whether I will actually display].

If you put ridiculous conditions on a professional chef, if they have some balls and sense of self, they will tell you to try Hungry Man, 5-6 minutes in the microwave, there's your professionally prepared and cooked meal; go stuff yourself.

I went to creation two years ago, one of the best experiences of my life, I hope you had fun!

Thank for the comments guys. It's good to hear that I am improved since last year, which I have to agree with.

As for editing, I adjusting the brightness and contrast a tad. I also cropped and sharpened. Not too much editing.

As for the shooting conditions... bleh. The main stage has you with an escort, and only 1-2 minutes of shooting time after 5. All of the main stage shows before 5 are free game. As for the fringe stage, they are very very laid back over there. I was wactually just standing on the edge of the crows watching one of the sets and the supervisor of the fringe stage pointed and motioned for me to come over. She told me I didn't have to stay out in the crowd and told me I could stay in the piit and off to the side of the stage whenever I was there. So that made shooting conditions very nice on the half of the festival.

I'm surprised you aren't getting more comments Brandon. Crowd shot looks great too. I'd be happy to "take" those and the last, among others for my portfolio :)

For any further onlookers, he's a geographic shot of the fest:

Over and curving around to the left are at least two more camping areas the size of what you see here. The creation stage is in the bottom, right half of the pic and the fringe stage area is in the bottom, left half, obscured by trees.

I like #2, 5 and 8 best.
IMO #4 and 7 are too OoF.

Crowd shot is nice, but doesn't seem to go along with the "looks" of the bands (I'm assuming mostly quite hard?)

Nah... not anyone's family reunion, just a great big concert event.

Phil Lesh is the Bassist from the original *Grateful Dead*... He has an incredible following of fans, and (last week,) produced the largest attendance ever at Penn's Peak (concert venue,) Jim Thorpe, PA...

The Black Crowes will be at Penn's Peak next... Chances are, they won't draw as large a crowd as Phil Lesh does...

Nah, most of the bands are contemporary. A lot of those shots came from what is called the Frinsge Stage, which is a smaller stage they reserve for harder bands. Most of the photos I posted are from the harder bands because they have more expression in their performance, at least IMO.
