I'm a big fan of a well composed shot of a nice road and surroundings. I'd love to see what others have!

(My inspiration is having just watched the Top Gear episode (external link) where they want to find the best driving road (external link) in the world!)

Here's a couple of my favorites from my own back yard:

This is the road my friends and I drove up on our road trip out to Denver, Colorado. The view (and the rest of the fun we had on our trip) have convinced me to move out there as soon as I can.

Here's one of my favorite "driving roads" near my home, it's fast, twisty, and there's not much around!

Mine's not too fast ... but it's AWD with upgraded bits of suspension!

Really like the "boots" shot. Here are a couple I like from the Valley of Fire, outside Las Vegas.

Great pics so far. Some of my favorite roads are unpaved, including old mining trails in the mountains.

Nice shot of Gateway. I'm trying really hard to get moved to Colorado, I just can't find a job out there! :(

Oh man, you guys! Stan, those are killer shots and Mike, that little girl! Wow!
Great Idea Charles and nice shots yourself - I love Top Gear, those guys are crazy I'll have to watch that episode if I get a chance. In the mean time, I'm going to try and get some "road" shots. In fact one of the photo-journalism ideas that I'm toying with at the moment has to do with road shots so this has inspired me a bit more to pursue it. Thanks for starting the thread and thank for all the great images guys!

I think I might have one that fits here from this past weekend. I'll have to find and process it though. I'll be back.... :)
