If you don't think you want to stand there, think what you might do if you did walk out there and this happened.

That's a good question. In recent years, the tourists visiting the Garden of the Gods have dramatically surged due to various magazines ranking this park #1 in the nation. So I only visit the park during winter seasons nowadays when typically only few locals visit. It's so sunny in CO that a foot of snow pile will all disappear by next noon. When the whole park is covered with snow, it's just gorgeous.

We desperately need a recession to wipe out the overcrowding in the parks. I went in '09 and it was tons of solitude... just save your pennies and go when the next one hits

My wife and I visited the park yesterday thinking that there wouldn't be many tourists given that, although much snow has been melted away, the place is still half covered in snow. Nope, we were very wrong. On some roads, we were bumper to bumper. Our next visit will have to be when it's snowing heavily.

This is exactly why I got into wildlife photography to hold me over until the off seasons/random times for landscapes. Wildlife tends to weed out the loud/impatient

Quick hand held shot along Wildcat Creek Road when I was out Saturday doing some landscape shooting. Taken with M6 Mark II.
