Alright so i need to get familiar with strobes because of what i shoot mostly.

And in the very near future, i was just gonna start out with a 430ex and cactus v2s triggers.

and then i saw the deal on gadgetinfinity for 2 vivitar 285hv's + diffusers, cactus v2s + 2 recievers + a bracket.
but for the price, i thought it might be too good to be true.

which deal would be better in your opinion?

430EX is much more versatile as it has ETTL, and charges faster than the 285. If you want a flash to go on your camera and work in auto get the 430, if you don't mind all manual and slow recharge get the 285s.

If you want to use the strobes in a studio environment you'll be FAR better off with proper strobes, like AlienBees or others mentioned in the FAQ. They'll fire all day at full power and won't overheat as they have fans in them.
