I am almost afraid to ask......but here it goes. Some of you may have seen earlier posts regarding my wants for a 100-400. Well, as for the next two seasons of soccer, I am head coach, so I won't be shooting as much except for monopod and 70-200 + 1.4.
ANYHOW, I am looking for a decent tripod to hold 30D and a 100-400, (when I get it), and also a decent remote. (does not have to be canon brand). I am not rich, do not have a lot of money, lol, and am asking for honest, reputable assistance for my needs.
I have looked and looked at tripods and heads......I seem to get overwhelmed by the choices out there.
SO, I plan on shooting night time fireworks @ Disney this October, I plan on a 100-400 for sports.....in about 6-8 months once coaching is done.
thank you in advance for help. ohhh...and I plan on trying self/family portraits at the beach, hence the remote.

We can't make recommendations until you specify a budget. There are 1,258,893 combinations of tripods and heads between $0 and $1000 :)

lol.....as true as this may be and the fact that not having tons of money is relative, I purchased one based on another thread here that suited my needs; ie similar set ups and lens uses.
ty for the reply though.

Here's how my luck panned out

- Amvona Dynatran AT-858B : $10 (+$14 shipping) <-- got lucky on that one | I esnipe
- Amvona ATH-A03 ballhead : $50 (+10 shipping) <-- wellmade ArcaSwiss knockoff
- cheapie eBay 30D remote trigger release : $0.01 (+ $5.50 shipping)

EASILY supports my gripped 30D w/ 70-200L f/2.8 IS (and 430EX) (for heavier lenses, be sure to mount the lens to the tripod (via the tripod mount that shoud have come with your 100-400).

All well under $100.

As for WIRLESS remote shutter release, ebay has those to, I'm not sure how well they work though (I only use wired remote shutter release).
