There are several places where the highlights have no detail left, such as in the right hand, his shirt and some of the reflections in the window. At the same time the blacks are blocked up and clipped. This would have been a really great shot had there been a cloud pass over just long enough to make the light a bit more diffuse. Bob

I see what you mean with some of the highlights and have done what I can now to correct them. I'm not sure what you mean for the blacks, could you give me an example? Canon 20D

I do think in some cases however (and i'm sure you'd agree Bob!) it's important to look at photography as not always needing to be bound by rules. Some of the best are those who break them, and I think you've captured a moment in time in a beautifully candid shot. I love the desaturated look and the fact that lack of other detail brings out the man's face. Very nice
