Visited one of the most photographed locations in Banff National Park last week. You almost have to wait in line to take a picture at the lookout. There is a short hike above the view point that leads to a more isolated shooting location. We stopped there for 20 minutes and there was no one else around. Here is the result:

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking!

The lake looks unreal, but what a fantastic viewpoint.

Great photo... I have been there a couple times. It's a bit of a photo challenge if you show up at the same time as the tour bus :) We have always gone late in the season (October) and have found it a bit more pleasant. Your photo reminds me of a couple of the best vacations I have ever taken. Thanks for sharing and bringing me back to one of the most beautiful places on earth!!!

Beautiful shot, was there five years ago and loved it. Lake Moraine was my favorite spot!

Nice shot. Banff is on my list of places to visit one day, hope I can get a shot as good as this one. Well done.

Cheers!

Yes it is, the lake is full of very small rock particles called glacial flour. These reflect the light back to our eyes as that nice colour of blue green.
