After spending the week shooting 6 baseball games, I felt the need again to head indoors to a cold dark rink and shoot some summer hockey. Fortunately my son had a game so the timing was right! Nothing too fancy. EXIF embedded. C&C appreciated:

Pretty good at ISO 1600. I wish our rink had that good of lighting. The shots look good with the noise more apparent on the blue jersey. Is that the real blue or did you boost it a wee bit.

Great series of photos.

No boost to saturation at all. That is the real blue! They are pretty wild jerseys.

Cheers!

Chris

Chris
Good job on the faces and the trifecta of face-puck-net in a couple.

The boards look the best in 4-6-8 , in the others they look a bit blown....they're almost too white and don't show the puck marks and other abrasions - little detail. Too much PP maybe?

cheers
Darcy

Darsk:

Thanks. Yes they may be a little blown so as to get better exposure on faces but in actuality these were pretty clean boards. I think they were pretty new and there were no ads on them anywhere. Even the puck marks behind the nets were minimal! The glass was also really clean although logistics confined me only to the penalty box for this game.

Good shots, Chris.

Nice to see some hockey photos at this time of year. It's not that I enjoy our Canadian winters, I simply find summer to be dead space between hockey seasons... ;)

Very nice shots. Hockey season is still some time away for me unfortunately.
