I am looking for a remote shutter release cable for the 40D. I had the RC-1 cable when I owned my XTi and it worked for the most part but it isn't compatible with the 40D.

Can anyone suggest a cable. Do I have to go with the $60 Canon version?

Why not get some wireless triggers, like the Pocket Wizards, or Radio Poppers. Search for them, there's tons of Info. Oh, and Adorama has their own version, which is a little cheaper. There's another person on here, that sells the radio transceivers...try searching for TeamSpeed (I think that's him/her). Here you go...click here.

Good luck.

The cheapie chinese made ones work fine for me, should set you back no more than $10 USD shipped.

Visit the POTN Support Shop (external link) and pick up the POTN Release. It's around $32.

I've bought 2 of the ebay cheapies, and both died within about 50 shots. Bought the Canon genuine one and no dramas. I know some ppl have good copies of the cheapies, just my experience.

I have the MA-A remote switch by Satechi (17.95 off Amazon) and it works for me just fine. Works with either my 40D or 30D.

I ordered mine from TS on a Tues and got it on Thurs. Ships from Indiana. He ships every day I think. I'd ask him to be sure he can get it there that quickly to be sure, but I doubt it would be a problem.

And Congrats!!!!!!!!! Where are you going?

Have fun! I was on Maui for a couple of days and Kauai for a day, wish I had spent more time there. I assume you're taking a helicopter ride?
