Retro Mid-Ohio 2008

So, a continuation of my experimenting with this week's Vintage Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio. Chris Clark and I had the run of the place all weekend and had a great time discovering shots that don't normally exist when the infield is packed with cars. Unfortunately, not a lot of historically important cars... but we made the best of it.

As mentioned before, I took the opportunity to shoot "mentally" in black and white. Additionally, I wanted to see if I could capture a retro-film look and feel.

Excellent John. These are different than the others I saw earlier. You know I am a fan of the between the tree shots; I think the BW on #3 just nails it. Loving #2 & 5 as well. Thanks for posting these with the added benefit of your intent.

Love number 1 as it has an almost dream-like surrealness to it. The garage shots feel like they are from days gone by too.

Wow John! When I lived in NE Ohio I went to many of the vintage races at the track, you managed to capture a feel I've never had at the place, just amazing. Your lighting has a great feel, especially on all of the garage shots.

I really love your ALMS stuff, but I think I like these even more.

Then you'll probably love this one. For me, I got the "old film" look so close it almost looks bad. LOL
