Evening

Not posted in a while...have been around but not feeling the photography lark much, but slowly getting back into it.

Went to Brands over the weekend and had a good laugh mostly out on the GP Loop where things are going proper fast and making proper noise.

Not much variation in the shots but the shapes are pretty varied. 40D mostly, sometimes a 20D, some with the 120-300, some with the 70-200. Exif is there for those who like to sniff around. Here goes;

Out at Westfield. The Historic Formula Ones are still probably the most exiting or fastest cars you'll see at Brands...

...the Can Am cars run them close though. If you think F1 cars are loud, try these for size.

In the early evening the light at Stirlings can be amazing

Light plays an important part when shooting through the fence at Druids. If it's dull, the fence magically disappears!

Back to Westfield. A lot of the Hysterical Saloons were going drifting, this driver pushed his car right to the limit...
IMAGE: http://images39.fotki.com/v1225/photos/1/105162/6416493/IMG_9792-vi.jpg

...but the Gods were smiling on him because he never quite made it over the limit. The car stayed perched there until the end of the race

Will do some more later. Cheers!

Good shots as usual.
Really wanted to go myself but my lack of interest in all things photography at the moment dented my enthusiasm.

Cheers guys.

Glenn - look forward to some 10D shots haha

Colin - going to Brands wasn't an issue, I love it there. Have taken plenty shots just not had much inclination to get them posted!

:D

Just wedged itself at 60 degrees or so in the gravel. I thought it was going to roll itself into a ball but not enough velocity/momentum - lucky really as it would have been a bit nasty to be honest.

Good stuff Mr G. Looks like you had the light in just the right place for those... as u say Stirlings late on is particularly nice.

Good catch with the near-roll - maybe i'll try inside of Westfield again as your shots look tidy.

BTW I was expecting 8 drifting shots... you've let me down ha ;)

Nice to see you posting again Dave, and a cracking series to get things started. I am very much liking the shot at Druids and the two from Stirlings (great light on those two).

Cheers,

Simon.

There's a photo of a Can-Am Mclaren M8. Need I say more?

I love those cars! Even more amazing than the Group C stuff, and makes any F1 car look and sound wimpy! Nice shots too, looks like a great location, how does 200mm on a 1.6 fare at Brands GP?
