Went back to the airport. I was pretty dang quiet for a while, and I started putting my gear away. About then, of course, things really picked up.

Same location as yesterday, but still have problems when they're just getting off the runway - too many power lines/poles, radar towers, fences, etc.

I did move the truck closer to the fence, got up in the bed, and it looked like a better angle. Naturally, the police showed up 5 minutes later and pointed out the "No Parking" sign. He was nice about it, and I moved back to the parking area.

Not much variety in shots compared to the ones I shared here yesterday, so I picked out a couple with different angles.

These were with the XTi/70-300, and I did apply a USM - helped more with contrast than sharpness.

A C130 caught me by surprise, too. I think I got a couple with the 40D/300mm 1.4x, have to process that card next.

Also, I'd like to start learning which aircraft I'm shooting, so anyone who knows an aircraft I post, I'd welcome your comment on manufacturer/model.

Thanks for looking.

Keep it up. I found a place just north of I-94 in Detroit where the planes come from the north ~5 days/week - another NWA hub. The day I got my 70-200 2.8, I went down there, sweet! I take my three year old daughter there about once a month.

As far as learning the aircraft, start buying tickets! I learned a lot on my China trip last week, like ID'ing the A320 vs. 737. Or 777 vs. A330.

A little less sharpening in #3 would look better.

Nice set, I have yet to shoot from outside the perimeter. I have shot from the main parking ramp a couple of times with decent results.

Glad the police are reasonable in dealing with photogs!

Keep shooting.
