This year we are down to one nest that produced chicks. I have only seen two chixks in the nest this year, but they may be more....Here's one of the parent, a chick and both parents....

These guys produced five chicks last season. So far this year, I have only seen two. There were once six pairs on this particular section of lots. There are two nests left and this pair was the only pair to produce this year...and so far I was able to observe two chicks at this nest. There was a massive construction project near the nesting site which may have caused the others to move else where. Thanks!

I believe so. The chick is about four to five inches. He is very curious and pops in and out of the burrow often. He will pop his head up and look around hen ever there is a loud noise. The other chick (slightly larger) only came out once or twice to pester mom for some food. The smaller one got most of the morning eats....Thanks!
