Trail version CS3 problems

I am trying to download the trial version of PS CS3 extended version. The installation almost goes through when at the tail end the installer says 'Adobe photoshop CS3: component install failed'.

I called adobe support and after being routed from one centre to another for half an hour, the tech rep tells me the failure could have been because of other adobe applications on my system. My one choice is re-start the trial installation in which case there is a very good chance the OS might show that the previous install counts for a fully used trial. My second choice is to uninstall each of my other adobe applications and try and again the installation had a very good chance of not going through.

Anybody have this problems? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had that problem as well. on Vista I had to run as admin on the install. on XP I had to remove flash before it would install.

Alright! Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try un-installing flash.
