Optech Super Classic strap??

I have a Rebel digital XT, and just got a 17-85IS lens for it, and need a comfortable strap.

I had the original Canon strap, and it worked OK with my old 28-80 cheapo lens, but the 17-85 adds alot of weight.

So I'm looking for a decent quality comfortable walk-around strap. I heard that the Optech Super Classic is a nice one, but just wondering what you guys think about it?

Thank you

Best regards,......Marc
It doesn't get any better thank this!

It's quite comfortable with my 40D + 17-55IS; I used it before with my Rebel XT + 17-85IS, and it felt almost as if the camera wasn't there...

I love my Optech Super Classic. I use one to carry my Gitzo tripod on my shoulder, too.

I use one with my XT and love it; comfortable around the neck or on the shoulder. I also have their Pro strap, which I prefer over the Classic. It's more comfortable with a heavier lens/body.

I picked up a Classic as it was cheap - mostly just for the connectors on the end to attach to a 300mm f/2.8L IS. I can use the Pro strap or this one if necessary. :)

BTW, for anyone who does NOT want the pro connectors, the OpTech Super Classic now also comes in a 'binocular' version (without the plastic quick connectors on the 3/8" web). It was a bit difficult to find on the web a month or so ago, as it was new on the market. I had to buy mine thru a non-photographic source. That is what I use for carrying my Gitzo.

Wilt....Actually, a prior post of yours got me looking at the Super Classic (about a month or so ago). I found them just as comfortable as the Pro Loop (a.k.a. POTN) and much less bulky....and just as strong per Optech's reference chart http://www.optechusa.com …Strap_Reference_Chart.pdf (external link)

I would have loved the one with the connectors, but I like a long strap and the bino was 16" longer. Not having the connectors is not really a problem, as the strap is so much lighter and flexible.

The 3/8" straps on the camera, however, did not "fall away" as easily as the Pro Loop did. I got a set of "Utility Loops" (#7 here http://www.optechusa.com …DUCT_ID=48&PRODUCT_SUB_ID (external link)= ) and attached these to the camera an the straps to it. The combo works great.

One other thing. I use a RRS "L" plate. Attaching the strap on the left lug of the camera and the other end to the base of the "L" plate allows the camera more freedom to hang better with long lens and/or flash attached.

BTW....I got the Super Classic bino at B&H. The Utility Loops I had from some time ago....I think I had to get direct from Optech....I had called them and since I could not get elsewhere the sold them direct to me.....good people....
