From my hotel window, I saw these umbrellas on the beach. But, the people sitting under them were distracting, so I removed them along with their chairs and accompanying shadows.

I'd put the people back, because you've lost the sense of scale.

The umbrellas look like those tiny ones you put in drinks.

Also, I'd probably crop it to remove most of the water, and some of the beach. Have a wider ratio to the picture.

I think the scale comes from the tracks and the waves. I also think the scale/size gives a sense of isolation and surreality to the image. In other words, I wouldn't change a thing. :)
