Fairly new to the world of photography with my first DSLR. The XTI just arrived today. One of the first shots with it is below. C&C welcome...

Not bad for your first shot new camera it is over exposed looks a couple f stop and light is vary harsh. Might try it earlier and later in early evening

Doesn't look over exposed on my monitor. If anything the XTi - 400D will try to underexpose. Very nice :D

Looks great to me ... but im a novice as well. and I also just picked up an XTi a couple of weeks ago. BTW, if and when you start looking for a secondary lens, I did a lot of research and got a lot of info on here and i picked up the Canon 55-250mm IS lens ... it is awesome and very well priced at $299!

Thanks for the advice. I already picked up a 50mm f/1.8, as it comes highly recommended to always have and super inexpensive.
