Hell, that pano is great! The emissions from the funnel really adds to it..

I can clearly see you don't need daylight saving, Greg ;) - you create your own!

Nice pano Dan, looks like quite an elevated spot you took it from...Creston building? or may be on top of the lighthouse at Flagstaff Hill lol.

Here's a pano I did this afternoon just after our hail storm looking out over Port Kembla from Flagstaff Hill. Stitch of 8 images.

Nice pano! that came up really well, the smoke does really add to it, you must have been quick on the pivot!

I also found out why it is hard to find a pot of gold... too much swimming involved.

Lovely panorama - Wollongong looks so pleasant from a distance.... :)

Yes, stupidly I hadn't brought my wideangle so this was all shot using my 100-400L. Luckily it has IS! Made it much easier to pivot. Didn't even use a tripod.

That's Port Kembla not Wollongong per se. I would say it looks "interesting" from a distance. Up close it's a little unappealing. If you do happen to be driving through Wentworth Street you may notice the brothels on every second corner and an array of addicts and hookers to match.

I remember being in Port Kembla once - smelled like sulfur. Never could understand how people could live there.

That would be the Hydrogen Sulfide from the coke ovens. Depends on the direction of the wind how much it stinks up the place. Usually not noticeable though.

PK also has a copper smelter (that huge stack you can see in the background - it really is quite mezmerising up close). I think they've closed down operations now but it used to make everything get covered in black soot whenever it rained.
