Well I probably got mine well below the going rate as it was. Gotta love "Buy it now" when things are listed by people without a clue.

Ehh... I have to start paying more attention to Ebay for bargains like that. Still on the lookout for a cheap Dryzone Rover...

Heh, I'm only just getting into the swing of things.... bought one thing so far for $30-odd and other than taking about 6 weeks to arrive it was fine. I keep on seeing awesome deals that get sniped at the last minute, mutter. :p

Having a few WB issues with flash, What gels does everyone use and when and what do you set the camera WB too? Strobist tends to only mention +Green (For Fluorescents) and CTO (For Tungsten and Shade to Daylight) What about CTS (Straw) CTB (CT Blue) and - Green?

That's how Ebay works. Watch it til the last 30 secs then place your bid. You can find some great deals and get lucky if they end at the right time.

I'm hardly ever home, though, and that causes problems when the auctions finish at odd hours and my internet access at work is erratic at best... not to mention the fact that they've barred Ebay :p

That's unlucky...Just stick to the hail mary bidding. Post the most you'd pay and hope you win.

With those CDs i was talking about last night, ive already had a problem  I made the CD with 2 sub folders 1 named HIGH RESOLUTION FOR PRINTING the other named LOW RESOLUTION FOR EMAIL/FACEBOOK ETC the low res ones where watermarked. The first CD (And so far only) has been delivered and the client took them to a photo lab to get them printed, the machine there did not notice the two folders and accidentally printed some of the watermarked images.

I am now issuing future clients with 2 CDs to avoid this but should i offer any renumeration for her costs of printing the wrong images?

I wouldn't, I think it would be unlikely the machine couldn't see 2 folders and it was an error on her part.

Yeh, i think i might offer to take back the disk with the 2 folders and issue her with 2 disks with low res on one and high on the other?

No... many machines these days give a warning if you're dropping the dpi too low based on the original file size.

So long as it was clear that there were both types of images on the cd in the first place... she should have checked.

Of course, you may win brownie points and some good rep if you do offer her something ;)

She is a good family friend which makes things a little trickier, CD only cost $30 so its not like it is a mammoth loss there.

oh feh, if she's a good family friend just give her separate cds or whatever makes it easiest for her. It's not like you're trying to make a lot of money off family friends.

Haha, you could have mentioned this earlier... :p
