Yeh Yeh Yeh.... that will change at the end of this year... November to be exact... I have a valid reason for it all.

hey a Q for the people with Batt grips here. I have 3 batts for my 5D, will i be needing more now that i have the grip?, like will i suddenly be left with no juice all at once with nothing to replace batts with?

it uses one side first then the other... it doesn't use two at once...

um - so - how come, after a shoot of, say 100 pics, both batteries need a recharge?

I'm curious. I have read that before - but it has always seemed to me that both batteries take a hit when I am using them.

On my 40D (I think it may need a service) 1 battery never gets used  Anyone know why the meter shows empty when only 1 is empty?

EDIT: Just looked and it only seem to run down the battery on the left (Away from the shutter button)

that's weird for you then!??

I used my batteries till the indicator went from full to half battery.

took out both and chucked them into chargers... the left cell (I think) just stayed solid in the charger, and the other one was single flashing (dead pretty much)

Curiouser and curiouser.

I have 6 batteries with me now (I had bought a spare set for the 40D) so I'm not too worried - just surprised.

Mind you, my 5D has a few foibles - it was one of the early 'demonstrator' models (thanks, Teds, you bastards) so I should expect a few differences.

lol @ 'differences'.

What camera are you experiencing these battery problems with? I know with the battery grip for the 30D, it didn't like some lens and battery configurations...

odd... not sure... I'm pretty sure my 30D behaved the same?
