Not me, I actually don't like the BG, I don't want one. :p

However I find that shooting long exposure shots really chews up the battery... i.e. my lightpainted car series ends up with at one battery gone.

I tried going back to gripless... but I just found it a bit wonky with a heavy lens in portrait shots... so I just use it... *shrug* :D each to their own really eh?

lol :) what's the ERR99 one?

undefined error - could be anything but is usually lens to camera contact or flaky battery contact - or a non-Canon lens suddenly not being recognised properly by the camera.

For example - there were a heap or early Sigma lenses - worked beautifully - until a new model of camera came out. Sigma would re-chip the lens and the combination would work fine.

Well - that still happens, to some extent. The lens to body comms is proprietary to Canon - and they won't share - so Sigma reverse-engineers the new bodies and works out what changes are needed in their lenses.

However - it can happen with Canon lenses, too - some of the older ones won't work on the latest bodies - or will only work intermittently.

Surely you can get a grip on a grip with the 1D. :p

then it wouldn't fit in the bag I bought for it ;)

True

try a 70-200 and flash on a 350D - the battery grip also helps balance it.

I felt for the users that tried to get their lenses updated and Sigma had to tell them that they had run out of chips.

Basically their lens was now useless on the camera body they had.

Do you guys shoot that much that replacing the battery when the indicator is flashing is a problem with just the one battery in cam?

It's a total pain in the a$$ to do that. Instead, I take 2 cameras and swap over once the battery in one is drained

Angus - I'm busy tomorrow (today, thursday... whatever), so I won't be able to come into the city.

It's 1:20am. Time for sleep me thinks...

Hrmmm, Trust TEDs to do that (Take Every Dollar). Camera House FTW.

Ugh, not up here. Camera House is the worst one, especially the one in the city. They lure you in with what seems to be a good deal on a body and then treat you like carp from there on in.

Luckily Teds is like, 4 shops down the street and have much better service and staff.

OK, I'm going to make the Eneloop and/or Imedion order soon.

So can everyone who wants a set, please PM me?

Price will be $18 delivered to your door for four batteries, with a bonus hard case, judging by last time's order.
