Anyone have both. I sold my 200L 1.8 last month. Simply because Canon Hong Kong won't support it anymore.

And looking for replacement like 300L 2.8 IS or the new 200L 2.0 IS.

Need suggestion.

Yes, what are you going to be using it mostly for?

200 f/2. Add a TC when you need the reach.

Obviously optically these 2 are as good as they come. What do you shoot mostly? And FWIW, the 300 native is better than the 200 + 1.4x.

The problem is I shoot anything or most of the thing. From people to auto to anything.

Previous when I still have the 200 1.8, I did not shoot much with it because it is too heavy for just 200 and the reach is not as good as the 100-400 plus I alwasy with my 70-200 with me.

forgetting about the "What are your going to use it for questions"

IMHO the 300 is a better value when it comes to price at today's street prices ;)

If that is the case why would you consider either one of these lenses. Are they not the same weight (5.6 pounds for the 200 f/2 and 300 f/2.8 )?

This is a good question:
- the 70-200's reach is not good,
- 70-200's bokeh is not as good as 200 1.8.
- 100-400 in not width enough, not shape enough
- So I think, 300L 2.8 may be as shape as 200L 2.0 and the bokeh is as goog as 200. If so, I can keep it in the car.

Get the 135 f/2 .............. small, light, crazy sharp, f/2

For the price the 300 is the better deal... if you need the exta stop or shot indoor A LOT the 200 is the choice

If so, I can keep it in the car

DONT tell me where you park... I cant go to jail!

135 has it already.

Exta stop is another question, the 5 stop IS is on 200L. How about 300, how many stop IS it has?

According to Canon USA, the 200 f2 IS has a 4-stop IS unit, like the 7-2 f4 IS http://www.usa.canon.com …egoryid=153&modelid=16357 (external link)

I believe the 300 f2.8 IS has a 3-Stop unit. It does not have the newest 4-stop though.
