I have a Canon EOS 350D and I need to use it in conjunction with a Mac laptop to take time lapse remote images. The mac is running OSX 10.5.4 so I am aware that I may need to downgrade, but have been playing around on my G5 which is running 10.4.11 trying to get the software to work. So far I have tried RemoteCapture and also tried to get hold of Digital Photo Professional thinking this would solve my problems but have only been able to find updates for it.

If anyone has any pearls of wisdom PLEASE let me know. I am completely stuck with this - nothing seems to work and I have to get this sorted as soon as possible. Thanks!

You'd need Eos Utility. Would work together with DPP.
Not sure on OSX 10.5

Do you have the CD that came with the camera?

Here are a few threads about shooting tethered: One, two, three, four.

I cannot help you with the MAC time lapse solution -
BUT
If you're desperate enough, there is a TC-80-N3 corded remote shutter release that is very flexible and designed for time-lapse shooting with any xxD or xD (not Rebel series) cameras. Just an alternative...

Hello madpa
my experience with time lapse sequences was a couple of months ago, when among others I had to shoot with my 400D a set up of an event for the production company I represent, in order to make the classic making off video afterwards. I started checking the settings of the camera and couldn't find any built in feature that programs the camera to shoot at predefined intervals (unlike my powershot G3 which has loads of settings for occasions like this). Then I thought to try it via software solutions like you but I changed my mind because I needed a solution which was far more compact and handy than installing also a laptop beside the camera and tripod for accomplishing the task. Then I bumped into a very handy aftermarket accessory which solved my problem. There is a lcd battery grip for canon eos cameras, like the BG-3 from canon, but this one also provides you with a screen where you can program all types of interval shooting very easily. It doesn't cost much and in my surprise I was really satisfied with the quality and easy of use.
You should find one by searching for the term "LCD battery grip canon" in eBay.
e.g.

Hope this will help but if you still want me to check on the software solution let me know...

Wow, good response and good information. Thanks I really like this solution and did not know it existed, and it is cheap.
