Danny's the second owner of his Dart. He's from Florida now, but he came all the way to the CEMA show!
It's a stock 340 cid motor with disc brakes & factory air.

A good friend had a brand new 70' 340 Swinger 4-speed with a Hurst shifter back in high school. It was Plum Crazy Purple with a black vinyl top, black hood with the twin scoop and a black tail stripe. It was a nice little ride. I wouldn't mind having one now...but not that one...because he ran it into the ground.

Factory A/C, and is the cruise control original? I'll bet they didn't make many with THOSE options.

Chrysler, in my opinion, made a HUGE mistake by not putting the 340's into the larger cars earlier. (Long story) but about the time of the FIRST fuel go 'round in about '73, I swapped a 340 into my '70 Roadrunner, which had been a 440 sixpack. That little engine, in that 'big' car, would stay right with most stock 383 cars--although I ran headers on it, and would routinely get not quite 18mpg on a trip. I put over 80,000 mi on that engine in that car

Can't afford any of that now!!

I noticed the cruise too, and as stated that was a very well optioned GTS. I bought a Swinger 340 4 speed that year, and years later restored a 67 GTS so those little Dart's have a big place in my memories. I used my 69 Swinger for a bit of drag racing in the "pure stock" class and to the best of my memory it's best time was a 14.44, which wasn't bad but I usually got eliminated in the early rounds of the class.

A skill is developed through constant practice with a passion to improve, not bought.

The guy across the street had a nice '69. Small, light with a good motor, what more could you ask for?

Factory A/C, and is the cruise control original? I'll bet they didn't make many with THOSE options.

A lot of these guys like to make them comfortable & considering that he came up from Florida, I guess I couldn't blame him for it?

Good stories. Thanks for the comments.
