Hey, i posted a thread earlier, and got some good info on how to work a photoshoot, but i guess now i need to cover myself for the legal aspect of everything, any information that can be shared about contracts and copyrights and all that good stuff?

I just dont know how to affordably find good contracts to cover myself in photoshoots.

Thanks a ton!!

good question, sorry i didnt clarify, My most current shoot i have set is portaiture for my company christmas party, kinda like a school picture type photoshoot for the couples to have done... but also i intend to do weddings, and i have a close friend who is a makup artist, so we trade business a lot, so some fashion makeup portraiture as well.

So Portraiture (both single, and group events), weddings, and Fashion Makeup

Are you asking for an attorney? Just because you have a business doesn't mean you need representation. Just find the link for contracts here, as I know there are some, or search the web. If you are really nervous, then hire a lawyer first and get all the legal stuff squared away. But really, insurance is the best thing to get for a new business.

Not so much looking for an attourney as just looking for the right papers i'll need in order to make a transaction go smooth as ice. And knowing if i need to have certain contracts for the release of my work and the distribution of it.

For example, my friend is a makeup artist, and this past weekend, for our portfolios, she did the makeup, and i did the photoshoot, i was going to simply let her have a copy of the work i do for her website portfolio, and include some on mine as well, do i need to have any written agreement with her about the photos? I just dont know that whole side of the industry.
