From the latest BJP news.....
Date: 2 July 2008
The average cost of a wedding photographer almost tripled over the last 10
years - but then slumped by nearly £100 between 2006 and 2008, according to
a survey by You and Your Wedding.
In 1996 the average cost of a wedding photographer was £353, the magazine
has found. This figure increased by 156% to £904 in 2006, but dropped back
down to £839 by 2008. It's thought that increased competition between
wedding photographers and amateur photographers, and affordable pro-level
digital SLRs could explain the latter-day decline.
Meanwhile the average price for an engagement ring has risen by 96%, the
honeymoon by 42%, catering by 34% and the reception venue by 47%. In 1996,
wedding expenditure was £11,653 and in 2006 it was £18,781, representing a
61% rise.
The average total cost of a wedding is now £20,273.:p
